OSTEOPOROSIS
Osteoporosis is a bone disease characterized by gradual "weakening" of the bone, resulting in increased risk of fractures. In particular, the normal bone consists of a collagen matrix and calcium salts. In osteoporosis there is a loss of these two elements, resulting in weaker bone.
Bone strength is dependent on bone density and bone quality. In osteoporosis we have a decrease in bone density and quality. Bone loss is gradual and usually without symptoms or other warning signs. There are many risk factors for creating osteoporosis such as heredity, eating habits, lack of exercise, hormonal disorders, etc.
